HIP AND KNEE REPLACEMENT SURGERY
Dr. Kirschenbaum is the lead surgeon of the hip and knee replacement program.
As an innovator in the design and techniques of joint replacement surgery,
Dr. Kirschenbaum provides his patients with the full range of available options.
The goal of joint replacement is to replace the part of the joint that has
arthritis, whether that is a hip or a knee. The Orthopaedic team also specializes
in partial knee replacements. This type of surgery covers the arthritic surface
with metal to take away pain and give back motion, thereby avoiding, in many
cases, the need for a total knee replacement. |

Coordinating
care with non-surgical specialists in the areas
of back therapy, spinal injections, and pain management,
Dr. Joshua Auerbach, Chief, Spine Surgery, is
focused on doing everything possible to relieve
back pain, as well as treat scoliosis (curvature
of the spine). When surgery is necessary, patients
have available to them a totally modern spine

SHOULDER
PROCEDURES
Dr. Lori Weiser is an expert in the treatment
of patients experiencing shoulder pain. Many of
these patients can be treated with medication,
physical therapy, or steroid injections. But,
for those that are not responsive to these methods,
shoulder replacement surgery is often the only
answer. This procedure involves resurfacing the
shoulder and replacing the damaged bone or area
with a metal implant and plastic socket.
At the outpatient level, Dr. Weiser oversees
the busy BronxCare Orthopaedic practice. Here, orthopaedic specialists
and physician assistants offer a full range of clinical services, as well
as digital X-ray and bracing.
SPORTS MEDICINE
Dr. Colleen Fay, Chief, Sports Medicine,
utilizes her expertise and experience in caring for athletes that strive
to be at peak performance. BronxCare Orthopaedics’ unique Game Day
Same Day program is offering athletes, including weekend warriors, surgical
and non-surgical intervention for sports related injuries. |
